What is JEE?

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission into undergraduate engineering programs in India. It is held in two stages — JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

  • JEE Main: Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), this exam serves as a qualifier for JEE Advanced and is also used for admissions to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
  • JEE Advanced: Conducted by one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), it is the gateway to admission into IITs and certain other prestigious institutes.
Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates who have passed or are appearing in Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible for JEE Main. Only top-performing candidates from JEE Main can appear for JEE Advanced.

Purpose:

The examination evaluates students on their understanding of core scientific and mathematical concepts and their ability to apply them in solving complex engineering problems.
